Joining Romance Critters

Critters is not affiliated with RWA, although most of our members are also
members of RWA.
An upload is a chapter, a scene, a synopsis, etc..
whatever you want.
Most chapters range from 13-20 pages.(double spaced, Dark
Courier, 12 pt)
Romance Critters uses Yahoo Groups to upload critiques and submissions.
Go to the Files area and look through the upload room. Post your item that you need critiqued here and also download item to critique from here. When you are finished with the critique, upload it to that person's room in the files area.
Once on the main Romance Critters Yahoo page on the left side of the screen you will see the links for this group. Home, Messages, Chat, Files, Photos, Bookmarks, Database, Members and Calendar. If you don't see all of these that's ok. The links that you should see and that you will be using for your posting and critiquing are Files and Database.
Uploading chapters = In the Files section, there are folders set up that we call rooms. There is one for each member and then the Upload room. The Upload room is where you will post your chapters that you want critiqued. Click on the Uploads Room link, then to add a chapter you want to click on the Add File link, use the Browse button to locate your chapter on your computer, type in a description (optional), check mark the box next to the Send a message the group.... Then click the Upload File button. We recommend saving your file as an RTF before uploading it. That's it! Your file should now be in the uploads room. This usually works on the first try. If not redo it.
Posting critiques = Once you download someone's chapter and you have critiqued it then it's time to post it to their room. Click on the person's room who you critiqued, click Add File link, use the Browse button to locate the critique on your computer, type in a description (optional), check mark the box next to the Send a message the group.... Then click the Upload File button. That's it!!
There are 3 steps to joining:
1. Read over the Critter Guidelines. You will be asked to agree and uphold these guidelines as a Critter member.
2. Fill out the Critter Membership Form and submit it.
3. Join the Romance Critters Yahoo group.
All 3 steps must be completed before you will be accepted into the group.
